Where to Retire

Crossville, TN, has been selected a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, a magazine geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. Crossville is profiled in a feature titled “8 Tax-Friendly Cities” in the January/February 2018 issue, available nationwide on Dec. 12.

Of course all of the people  who live here already knew this, so if you are wanting a great place to retire too, call me today and let's get started on the nest chapter of your life.

Where to Retire Editor Annette Fuller said many relocating retirees consider taxes when making their move and with its mountain views and the Cumberland County Playhouse, Crossville paints an overall rosy picture, with a lesser tax bite.

Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than those who choose to not relocate. They bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns. Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to attract retirees as a source of economic development.

The 8 Praiseworthy Low-Cost Cities: Aiken, SC; Athens, GA; Crossville, TN; Natchitoches, LA; Oxford, MS; Reno, NV; Stuart, FL; and Wickenburg, AZ.

SPRING-SPRING-SPRING

Well we made it through the winter and the ice storm. But not without lots of damage and destruction. Lots of trees down, don't know when I have ever seen the ice and snow bring down so many trees and limbs.
To make matters worse, most of us were without power for 2 to 6 days.

But we made it through and now the sun has brought about the beautiful daffodil. That's what we all wait for in the spring. So most of us have had to clean up broken branches and trees from our yards, some from roof tops. There will be reminds of the ice storm for months, some property owners will not clean up the mess. As a lot of people have found out, you home owners may not pay for trees to be cleaned up if they are not on your home or the road. Insurnce companies started making home owners pay a special premier for tree removal.

The golf course was a mess for awhile and the crew worked hard trying to get things cleaned up and all the volunteers that helped Thank You, you did a great job and the course is looking good. Some of the greens looked so bad right after the ice and cold, but now Todd and the crew have the greens looking smooth, green and ready for you to play golf.

But we are all ready for the warmer weather and beautiful sunny days. Lots of you are playing golf, I saw a couple of boats on the lake. So it doesn't matter how bad the winter, we will make it through. I hope everyone has a great week and gets ready for our summer at Lake Tansi.

Doesn't get any better than this!!!!!!!!

A Reminder- POA Fees are due.

hand-writing-a-check-cmp.jpg

A Quick reminder that your POA Dues need to be paid by the end of the month or there will be penalties. Our dues help to run our great community. We have the privilege of having 2 pools, beach, marine, golf course, tennis courts, playground, recreation center and security, which all adds to the value of our property. It's like living in a city and paying city taxes. So if you haven't paid your dues yet, better hurry...
